Questions About Enrolling

Here's what people usually ask when considering our programs.

Do I need prior experience?

Not for the February course. That one starts from scratch. The later programs assume you understand basic financial concepts, but we'll provide a refresher list before you start.

When does enrollment open?

We're planning to open registration in December 2025. Class sizes are limited, so we recommend joining our mailing list if you're interested in getting an early notification.

What materials do I need?

A laptop and spreadsheet software (Excel or Google Sheets work fine). For the modeling course, you'll want Excel specifically. We'll provide datasets and templates as we go.

How much time should I plan?

Classes run two evenings per week, about two hours each. Then expect another three to four hours for reading and exercises. It's manageable alongside work, but you do need to keep up.

Are these in-person or online?

We're planning in-person sessions at our Dubbo location. There might be a virtual option for some courses depending on demand, but we haven't confirmed that yet.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes, you'll receive a completion certificate if you finish the coursework and assessments. It documents what you learned, though these aren't accredited qualifications.

How Our Programs Work

We try to balance structure with flexibility. You'll have clear learning objectives, but also room to explore topics that match your interests.

Practical Learning Approach

Each week combines short lectures with hands-on exercises. You'll work through actual company reports, calculate ratios, and discuss what the numbers reveal. Most people find the group discussions particularly helpful because everyone notices different details.

  • Real financial statements from Australian companies
  • Weekly problem sets with instructor feedback
  • Small groups for easier questions and discussion

Building Confidence with Numbers

Financial analysis isn't about memorizing formulas. It's about developing judgment and learning to ask good questions. We start simple and gradually increase complexity as you get comfortable with the basics. By the end, you should feel confident reviewing reports independently.

  • Step-by-step skill development from basics to analysis
  • Practice identifying both strengths and red flags
  • Learn to present findings clearly to non-finance people
